Arduinos are programmable circuit boards. They are at the heart of the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) movement. They are the first step in creating a contribution to the Internet of Things. What is super cool about the Arduino is that it is open-sourced. When someone else builds something awesome with an Arduino, they share how they did so, and they share the code. You can start with their code and design on top of their design, rather than starting from scratch.
We have 6 Arduino kits in the media lab. They are available to borrow for science fair projects, but needed back in the lab for teaching in the spring.
